Despite the announced reforms and campaigns with a focus on morality, a recent poll shows that more than 70 percent of Peruvians do not trust in the power of the judicial branch, an alarming figure that is the highest recorded in the last few years.

Respondents were also questioned about which of several cases best represented the corruption and inefficiency of the judicial branch, an 80% responded without question that it was the (shameless) theft whose victim was the businessman Ernesto Schutz Landázuri.
